Order in advance and we will prepare a full, delicious meal for you to enjoy in our garden setting. For nibbles and finger food you can choose from our snack meny upon arrival.
Pizza on demand, BBQ-buffet or scandinavian-style "räkfrossa" (shrimp feast). On wednesday nights we keep our kitchen open during the evening and prepare a garden dinner for you. Book in advance.

The main building from 1896 was built by an ironmonger and during the years it has housed a hardware store, a telegraph station and the village milk delivery point. On the bottom floor lies our newly renovated flat with two bedsrooms and a small kitchen. It is possible to rent the appartement per day or week. Pictures

This house has been just what the name suggests, an old ladder factory from the 1940s (made of ropes for evacuation purposes). We have a preserved copy. The factory lies opposite the white house with our garden in between. Here you can find three newly renovated rooms (one with a balcony) up-stairs and a combined lounge and breakfast room downstairs. The cottage lies in between the white house and The Ladder factory and together the houses frame our garden with beautiful views of the lake. This is where you will stay if you have a pet with you. This was already a hostel in the 1940s thus it is here you will find the oldest but also the most charming rooms of the hostel. Kitchen for self-catering, showers and toilets are located in The Ladder factory just a few steps away. Pictures

This is the name of our cosy cabin for 2 p. If you want privacy with the woods outside the door and the hostels best lakeview, here is where you want to stay. With fresh water (cold) and a composting closett at the back, this is a more plain living. Kitchen for self-catering, showers and water closets is located 50 meters below in The Ladder factory.
Nine rooms with a total of 20 beds, a lounge with in-door dining facilities and a cosy sofa corner for the kids, two kitchen for self-catering, charcoal grills, a lake sauna and jetty and a restaurant within walking distance. Here you will find the perfect settings for hanging out with family or frends!

Good to know: Ängelsberg has no grocery store, petrol station or other shops. If you want to have lunch or dinner at the local restaurant, we recommend that you book a table or make inquiry about their opening hours in advance.

The making of iron in this part of Sweden descends from the middle ages. In our village we have the best preserved and most complete exampel of this type of swedish ironworks from 17th and 18th century.
Guided tours during summer. The ironworks is at a walking distance frpm the hostel. Along the way you will pass the Sculpture park.

“The oil refinery was struck by lightning, caused it to explode and it burned down to the ground. The clothes of Åhlund, the head engineer, caught fire and he quickly had to throw himself in the lake. The oil spilt and spread far out on the water, The whole bay was burning!”
This is how the history starts of the oldest, preserved oil refinery in the world.
Guided tours to the oil island during summer. The ferry takes of from the public jetty just below the hostel and it is just a short ride of 5-10 min.

Every year new art works and installations are presented in this fantastic, green scenery along the creek of Snyten. The park is at walking distance from the hostel (on the path to the ironworks) and is free of charge. Open all summer.
Take a swim from the public jetty (200 m) or lend a canoe for a sightseeing around the islands in lake Åmänningen. Fishing permits can be bought at the tourist information in the village.
In the woods around Ängelsberg you can pick mushrooms and berries. Take an excursion to Hälleskogsbrännan and the outdoor exhibition of one off the largest forest fires in modern times 2014.
